Transformational Business Conference & Awards 2015
11 June 2015 | InterContinental Park Lane #FTIFCAwards

CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

The global urban population is predicted to grow by more than two thirds by 2050, with close to 90 per cent of this increase occurring in African and Asian urban areas . Well-planned and effectively managed environments are critical if the drawbacks of uncontrolled urbanisation - including pollution, limited spaces, a poor quality of life, scarce resources and inadequate public services - are to be minimised.

The march of urban transformation is relentless; its impact on economic, social and environmental development inevitable. The key challenge for private sector businesses, policy makers, and planners is to find innovative solutions and sustainable approaches that will redefine rural and urban development, to drive economic growth and ensure prosperity for generations to come.

The Financial Times and IFC will gather leading thinkers and decision-makers from the private and public sectors to discuss the integrated policies and most effective solutions to the key social and environmental challenges facing rapidly growing urban areas in developing economies.

The agenda for this major conference has been developed in association with the Cities Alliance, and will also feature exclusive discussions with some of the short-listed nominees for the FT/IFC Transformational Business Awards, ahead of the awards dinner being held on the evening of June 11.
