A discussion of the myths surrounding Alden, his motivations in founding Allegheny, and an estimate of how his bipolar personality endangered but ultimately helped to preserve the College.

An hour’s ramble about the lower ravine with Timothy Alden as he tells of the development of the early campus, including the filling of the ravine, creation of Starvation Hall,  shotguns in Bentley, and the Mephistopheles Society. Space is limited to 25 people per tour.
